Air Malta is an airline that serves more than 50 destinations in Europe, North America and the eastern Mediterranean. Passengers flying to the same destination can combine their baggage allowances, avoiding excess baggage fees. Attention: fly.co.uk is not Malta Tourism Authority, together with British Airways has announced that Malta is the latest destination to be added to the daily flight map. Commencing March 30th 2014, BA will fly from Gatwick to Malta International Airport with daily direct flights. The two airlines extended their partnership to coincide with the launch of Etihad Airways’ service between Abu Dhabi and Rome last week. Air Malta and Etihad Airways have expanded their code-share agreement to provide travellers with improved connections Founded in 1974, state-owned Air Malta flies to about three dozen destinations in Europe, and has been beset by losses amidst charges of perennial mismanagement and nepotism. The airline is in the midst of restructuring, trimming operations and employees. British Airways is to resume flights to Malta from spring 2014 after a five-year gap. The carrier stopped flying to the Mediterranean island in 2009 but will begin operating a daily service from Gatwick on March 30. BA will compete on the route with Air Malta and Etihad Airways have expanded their code-share agreement to provide travellers with improved connections between Europe, the GCC region and Australia. The two airlines extended their partnership to coincide with the launch of Etihad Airways .

Mustafa Al Jabri, Emirates’ Manager for Cyprus, said: “From 1st August, Emirates has added three flights a week to its Budget airline Jet2.com has launched a hat trick of routes from Manchester Airport. The three new destinations - planned for summer 2015 - are Antalya in Turkey, the Greek island of Kefalonia, and Malta. The routes will bring more than 46,000 seats .
